If you run a distribution business, you probably think of your data as a byproduct: old quotes, closed orders, a shared inbox full of supplier emails. To AI labs, it's something else: one of the best records anywhere of how B2B commerce actually works.
The public web has almost none of it
Distributors don't publish their order desks. There are no blog posts showing how a rep handled a short shipment for a key account, or how a buyer negotiated a mid-year price increase. That work happens in ERPs, CRMs, and inboxes, so it's missing from the data most AI models learned from.
It's exactly what AI agents need to learn
The next wave of AI is agents that do work: quote, order, chase, reconcile. To train and test them, labs need real examples with all the messy parts intact:
- A quote revised three times before the customer buys
- A backorder handled with a substitution the customer accepts
- A pricing exception approved for a strategic account
- A credit issued after a damaged delivery
A distributor with ten years of history has tens of thousands of these.
And it can be licensed safely
Customer and supplier names, contacts, and account numbers are removed before any buyer sees the data. You approve every source, and the license bars buyers from re-identifying anyone or using the data to compete with you.
