How your data is protected

Every engagement is covered by a signed agreement before we receive anything, and no buyer ever sees data that hasn't been de-identified.

The data lifecycle

  1. Before access

    Scope in writing

You approve each system, date range, and exclusion in the Data Schedule.

  2. Transfer

    Encrypted, read-only

Secure upload or temporary read-only credentials. Encrypted in transit and at rest.

  3. Processing

    Limited access

Only staff bound by confidentiality handle raw data.

  4. De-identification

    Identifiers removed

Names, contacts, account numbers, and IDs removed or pseudonymized, then checked by hand.

  5. After processing

    Raw data deleted

De-identification is completed within 14 days of extraction (longer only for very large datasets, agreed in writing), then raw files are deleted with a certificate of deletion.

  6. Sale

    Buyer restrictions

Buyers contractually can't re-identify, redistribute raw data, sub-license outside agreed limits, or use it to compete with you.

Our de-identification method

  • Remove names, emails, phone numbers, street addresses, account and invoice numbers, tax IDs, and signatures
  • Replace people and company names with consistent pseudonyms so workflows stay readable
  • Shift dates by a consistent offset and group monetary values on request
  • Scan free text with automated tools, then review samples by hand
  • Keep pseudonym keys separate and destroy them with the raw data

Read the plain-English version in how de-identification works.

Before and after
